10 Stars for the Movie “Tarima” : 27th PMPC Star Awards for Movies

The 27th PMPC Star Awards for Movies is happening June 17, 2011.

And leading this year’s PMPC Star Awards for Movies nominees is the Star Cinema film “Sa ‘Yo Lamang” which has 13 nominations, including Best Picture, Best Director and acting nods for 5 of its stars: Christopher De Leon, Lorna Tolentino, Bea Alonzo, Coco Martin and Enchong Dee.

Coco Martin actually has 2 nominations. He is a nominee as Best Actor for “Noy” and Best Supporting Actor for “Sa ‘Yo Lamang”.

Chito Rono film “Emir” also scores big nominations. It has 11 nods, including Best Picture, Best Director, Best New Movie Actress for Frencheska Farr and Best Supporting Actress for Dulce.

Third in line is the digital film “Tarima” starring Fanny Serrano and directed by Neal Tan with 10 nominations. Including your’s truly as Digital Film Editor of the Year.

Three to be exact. As in Sakto. Meet Rodjun Cruz, Lucky Mark Mercado and Edgar Alan Guzman, the newest boy group in town that first made heads turn when they front-acted David Archuleta’s recent album promo. Sakto did Rampa (written by Jungee Marcelo) which has easily caught the fancy of the younger set. The fact that they dance as well as they sing is another plus factor, which is what Sakto does Sundays onTV5’s Party On 5 in the FRESH segment. Seeing the trio’s potential, Sony Music Philippines has signed them up and promptly released their debut album titled Rampa.
